SEYMOUR CREEK TEAM CLAIMS THE
2008 PRO-ASSISTANT CHAMPIONSHIP
G&G Golf Company PGA of BC
Pro-Assistant Championship
July 21-22, 2008
Nk'Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course
The day's low score of 6-under par 66 proved enough for the Seymour Creek Golf Centre pair of James Legault and Bryn Parry to capture the 2008 G&G Golf Company PGA of BC Pro-Assistant Championship at Nk'Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course.
The tournament featured a scramble format the first day and the more difficult modified Chapman alternate-shot on Day 2. Legault and Parry shot 16-under par over the two days (62-66--128) and earned a cheque for $2,800 from the total purse of $17,000.
Tied for second place were the defending champions from Point Grey Golf & CC, Jeff Buder and Trevor Hay, and the team from Hi-Knoll Golf Centre, Jeff Hallborg and Scott Shepherd.
Course conditions at Nk'Mip Canyon Desert were outstanding and the competitors enjoyed hot, sunny conditions for both rounds of the Championship. Forty-seven teams of two, consisting of a Head Professional and Assistant Professional, from around the province competed in the 36-hole championship.
