Why did you become a PGA of Canada Professional?
I have always loved the game of golf, since a very young age. Becoming a PGA of Canada professional has enabled me to share my love for the game with so many other people throughout my career.

What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC?
The most rewarding part about being a PGA of BC member is the relationships that are built, both professionally and socially. Through teaching, tournament play, and social play, golf provides the opportunity to build friendships that can last a lifetime.

At which golf facility did you first begin working within the industry, and who was the PGA Professional?
I began my career at Broadmoor Golf Club, in Sherwood park, Alberta. The Executive professional is Trent Wright, Neil Leslie was the Head professional at the time. I have worked at a number of different facilities across the country, starting in Alberta, moving back to my hometown of Winnipeg, MB and then on to BC. It has been a fun ride!

Who has influenced your career the most, and how?
It is very tough to narrow it down to who has influenced my career the most. I have worked with so many great professionals at so many great facilities through my career. I have taken something away from everyone that I have worked with, and that is what has help to develop my career to where I am today.

What career path led you to where you are today?
Helping people learn and improve at the game that I have a passion for. The satisfaction you get from seeing a student hit a great shot is a feeling that never gets old!

Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
My most significant accomplishment would have to be winning the PGA of Manitoba Championship. I love to teach golf, but the thrill of competition is something that drives me.

If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be?
There are so many different opportunities that we have as PGA members, never be afraid to try something new.

What is your most cherished golf memory?
Playing golf with my Wife and Daughter. There is no specific moment in time, I cherish every moment that we have on the golf course together.

What is your favourite golf course in British Columbia, and why?
Being relatively new to the PGA of BC I have not had a chance to play a lot of the courses in the province. I would have to say Tobiano is the course that I have enjoyed the most thus far.

What is a common misconception that golfers make about what your job entails?
The amount of golf that we as golf professionals actually get to play. Most of us do not get to play everyday we are at the facility, however; that is what is though of as being a golf professional.

What is an interesting fact about yourself that doesn't involve golf?
I was once a certified autobody technician. That was a trade I was interested in pursuing after high school.
