VICTORIA, BC (PGA of British Columbia) -- Dozens of PGA of BC members left Victoria Golf Club Wednesday with excellent takeaways from three thought-provoking presentations in the latest installment of the 2018 PGA of BC Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada.
The day's program opened with three well-established Vancouver Island members -- Victoria Golf Club Head Professional Lindsay Bernakevitch, Highland Pacific Golf Executive Professional Jeff Palmer and Glacier Greens Golf Course Head Professional Bill Kelly -- discussing the routes they took to their current positions and sharing career-path advice for up-and-comers within the Association, in a panel moderated by host Executive Professional Scott Kolb.
The focus shifted from golf but stayed on the "green" for the second session of the day. Gareth Dickson, an Investment Advisor and Associate Portfolio Manager with our Preferred Partners at Odlum Brown Limited, provided tips on personal financial and investment planning to help members ensure their futures are well-funded.
The event concluded with Matt Palsenbarg (Northview Golf Academy) presenting the results of the recent PGA of BC Teaching Survey -- complete with findings specific to Vancouver Island -- and leading discussions about the state of the province's golf-instruction industry.
Videos of Wednesday's presentations will be uploaded to the PGA of BC website in the future and made available for all members to view. As well, Teaching Survey data presented will be accessible for members in the weeks ahead.
The next installment of the Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada is set for March 6 at Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club. Registration for the two remaining events in this year's series is open. Click here to view the full schedule and to access links to sign up for each event.
