CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT & SCORING

The format for the Pro-Junior Championship is an 18-hole, 2-net best ball competition. Professionals should return their team scorecard with gross scores for all participants. Scorecards should be returned to the PGA of BC immediately after completion of play. Professionals will be playing for a share of the prize pool based on eagles and birdies made during the round. Junior participants will compete for team prizes.

TOURNAMENT DRAW

Tournament draw will be finalized by Friday, August 17th and will be posted in the Tournaments & Events section of pgabc.org

ITINERARY

7:30 AM – Registration & Practice Facility Open - All signed release forms must be submitted

8:30 AM - Team Shotgun Start

1:30 PM - Championship Luncheon and Prize presentationfollowing play

REGISTRATION

Please register your team upon arrival outside the clubhouse. Be prepared to update the handicap factors of your team members. You must submit all release forms at this time to be eligible for play. As in previous years, all professionals must have the parents of the junior team members sign a parent/guardian release form. Please have these forms signed and ready for collection at the registration table on Monday August 20th.

Each professional is responsible for the actions of his/her team and should be aware of the whereabouts of their team members at all times. 

LUNCH & AWARDS

A championship luncheon will be served immediately following play on Mondday. Please note that the PGA of British Columbia dress code GOLF CASUAL (Shorts OK) will be in effect for this post-tournament function. Immediately following lunch, the awards presentation will take place.

Golf Casual = golf slacks, collared golf shirt and dress shoes (Shorts & teaching shoes acceptable).

PACE OF PLAY

The PGA of BC and Meadow Gardens anticipate the round will take a maximum of four and ½ hours. Please do your best to educate your team on the importance of playing the round at a reasonable pace although all participants are to play without power carts.

PROFESSIONALS

There is a skins game for the professionals in the Pro-Junior Championship. The cost is $20 and professionals must pre-register – skins will not be available on-site. If you have not already done so and wish to be entered in the skins game, please call the PGA of BC office to register.

TEAM UNIFORMS

The tradition at this tournament is for the team members to dress in matching uniforms. Please make every effort to continue this tradition. As an incentive, there is a contest for the best-dressed team.
