CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT AND SCORING
The scoring format for the PGA of BC Seniors’ Championship is a 36-hole stroke play competition. Male competitors will be teeing off the PGA of BC markers. Scorecards should be returned to the PGA of BC scoring table immediately after completion of play.
PURSE:
For full field of 20 or more players, total purse of $7,500. This amount includes separate purse for Super Seniors (age 60 & above) paying 3 spots.
ELIGIBILITY:
Participants must be age 50 or older at the time of competition. Super Seniors category eligibility is age 60 or older.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES
The use of electronic distance measuring devices is permitted in PGA of BC events. Those devices capable of measuring distance ONLY will be permitted. Devices capable of measuring other factors, such as elevation change, are NOT permitted.
ITINERARY
Monday, June 4th – Round One
All competitors are required to register with the PGA of British Columbia at least 30 minutes prior to your start time.
6:00 am Registration and Practice Facility opens
7:00 am Tee times begin off the 1st tee
Lunch/Dinner (including cocktails) to follow after golf
Tuesday, June 5th – Round Two
6:00 am Practice Facility opens
7:00 am Tee times begin off the 1st tee
Lunch/Dinner (including cocktails) to followafter golf
* At conclusion of tournament there will be an awards presentation in the clubhouse. We ask that all participants please make every effort to attend the presentation. PGA of BC dress code GOLF CASUAL will be in effect for all post-golf gatherings. Golf Casual – golf slacks, collared golf shirt and dress shoes (teaching shoes acceptable).
TOURNAMENT DRAW
A final draw will be prepared by Friday, June 1st and posted in the Tournament Section at www.pgabc.org. You may also obtain your starting time by contacting the PGA of BC office on Friday at 604.303.6766 or the Vernon golf shop at 250.542.9126. Please make sure you confirm your starting time prior to arriving at the course on Monday.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Practice rounds will be available Sunday June 3rd after 1 p.m. Please contact the Vernon golf shop to set-up a tee time.
Local participants are strongly encouraged to play their practice round at least 2-3 weeks prior to the Championship.
REGISTRATION & SCORING STATION
Upon arrival please proceed to registration. Immediately after play please remember to proceed to the designated scoring area and submit your scorecard.
POWER CARTS
The use of power carts IS PERMITTED at the Senior Championship at the player's expense.
CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS
Follonwing second round play on Tuesday an awards reception and presentation will be held in the Vernon clubhouse. Please make every effort to stay until the awards presentation has concluded. Prize cheques will be mailed within 5 business days.
