2025 Sponsor-Media Appreciation Invitational presented by Rampion Enterprises Ltd.
May 9, 2025
Richmond, BC (PGA of BC) - The 2025 Sponsor-Media Appreciation Invitational presented by Rampion Enterprises Ltd. was a smashing success, with over 70 sponsors, partners and media representatives and nearly 30 PGA of BC professionals enjoying camaraderie and networking.
The Sponsor-Media Appreciation Invitational, now in its second consecutive year after returning from a hiatus, took place Monday, May 5 at Vancouver's University Golf Club. The Club served as a phenomenal host, showing off its well-maintained facilities and welcoming atmosphere.
The event was a great chance to connect sponsors, media, and other key players in golf across the province. Bringing a diverse group together and highlighting the Association through both social and traditional media showed the value of these relationships and the strength of the community around the sport.
Competing professionals attempted to make as many birdies as possible for a share of the birdie prize pot. Kevin Stinson (Cheam Mountain Golf Course) was the top professional with seven birdies made, while Kyle German (Callaway Golf) and Mark Valliere (Glacier Greens Golf Club) had five birdies apiece.
Competing amateurs enjoyed a variety of on-course competitions, including multiple Closest-to-the-Pin competitions sponsored by Levelwear, a Closest-to-the-Keg competition sponsored by Hoyne Brewing, and a $10,000 hole-in-one opportunity sponsored by Axis Insurance. The hole-in-one opportunity came on the newly remodeled 7th hole at University Golf Club, now playing as a gorgeous par-3 with trees dispersed down the right side of the hole and a challenging bunker that will claim shots hit deep and left. One of the main highlights came on the 8th hole, where attendees competed with old-fashioned hickory clubs, courtesy of BC Golf Museum Historian Mike Riste. A special thanks to Riste for his presence and to the BC Golf House Society for providing this unique opportunity.
