Community Engagement

Golf has the power to do more than improve your swing. The PGA of BC's Community Engagement Program brings that belief to life across British Columbia, connecting our professional members and their facilities to causes that matter.

Our grow-the-game initiatives work to make golf more welcoming and accessible for everyone. The Women's Golf Celebration presented by adidas Golf Canada invites women across BC to experience the game each June, while Canucks Junior Golf Month connects hundreds of kids province-wide with a PGA professional for their first lesson during their summer break from school.

Our give-back initiatives channel the passion of our membership toward causes beyond the course. The Golfathon for ALS has raised over $3 million for ALS research and care, and the PGA of BC Teach-a-thon for Mental Health raises funds and awareness for local mental health initiatives in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The PGA of BC Awards, presented each fall, celebrate the individuals and facilities leading the way in all areas of our Association, including recognizing excellence in community impact alongside the broader contributions that define our profession.

Tying it all together, the Community Engagement Program rewards the PGA of BC professionals who give the most back, with top contributors sharing a $5,000 season purse.
