Victoria, BC (PGA of BC) - Jamie Moran (Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community) leads the 2025 Srixon/Cleveland Golf Club Professional Championship presented by Nike Golf and Mobilicab by two shots at Victoria Golf Club following the first round, shooting a 3-under 67.

Moran teed off on the second hole in the shotgun start. He compiled four birdies today and added a single bogey on the par-3 14th. Moran especially attacked the par-5s with confidence and skill, birdieing all three today.

“I started the day really well, hitting it exactly where I was aiming and having some good looks at birdie,” said Moran. “A couple loose swings later in the day, but I managed to save an up-and-down par from the bunker on one hole and made a nice up-and-down on the last hole to finish. The couple times I did get in trouble I bailed myself out. It was a fun day with a great group of guys.”

Asked about his mindset and strategy heading into tomorrow’s round, Moran said he plans to focus on his own game and build on today’s success.

“Strategically, no change. The game plan is pretty good and I think we’ll be blessed with another great weather day tomorrow, so we won’t have to worry about elements or crazy winds. I’m playing with a couple of phenomenal players, and I can’t get wrapped up in what they do. If I can play another good round of golf, I’ll figure out what happens at the end.”

In second place, Nathan Leonhardt (Tour Development Academy) fired a 69 (-1). Leonhardt enjoyed a highlight eagle on the par-5 1st hole. Lindsay Bernakevitch (Victoria Golf Club) sits in solo third after shooting even-par at his home course. Kevin Stinson (Cheam Mountain Golf Course), Richard Ingle (Victoria Golf Club), and Andrew Smart (Nicklaus North Golf Course) are tied for fourth place at one-over.

Professionals competed in a closest-to-the-pin competition sponsored by FG Club Solutions and Vegas Baby on hole 14, with the winner taking home $200 cash courtesy of the sponsors and Founder Scott Kolb. Congratulations to Eric Wang (Victoria Academy of Golf) for winning the closest-to-the-pin competition. Thank you to FG Club Solutions and Vegas Baby for the support.
