PGA of BC announces new multi-year partnership with Play Golf BC

Richmond, BC (PGA of BC) - The PGA of BC is excited to announce Play Golf BC as the new Title Sponsor of the Association’s Assistants’ Championship. Play Golf BC is an online tee time company with a focus on giving back to the PGA of BC through the Assistant’s Championship and future Junior Golf events. Play Golf BC has already established relationships with courses in the Kamloops and Kelowna areas, with its sights set on growing its reach across British Columbia.

As part of this partnership, the Association and Play Golf BC will work to bring playing and scholarship opportunities to young golfers. The PGA of BC office looks forward to announcing more exciting initiatives in collaboration with Play Golf BC for 2027.

Play Golf BC is committed to developing and supporting our young professionals – tomorrow’s golf leaders – on both competitive and career paths. The three-year commitment to this championship is the beginning of that, and we could not be happier," said Play Golf BC's Bruce Vermee.

PGA of BC Business Development Manager, Dan Czerwenka, believes that this new partnership will help the Assistants’ Championship to reach new heights. “We’ve been able to do some incredible things the past few years, working with our sponsors and partners to enhance the player experience at the Assistants’ Championship. I believe that this collaboration with Play Golf BC will help us to bring the event to a whole new level, continuing to raise the bar and deliver the highest calibre experience possible for our playing competitors.”

Last year’s Assistants’ Championship at Meadow Gardens Golf Club featured a field of more than ninety players. It saw Steven Lecuyer (Seymour Creek Golf Centre) win his third straight Assistants’ title, tying the record originally set by Gerry Chatelain. The Association plans to announce the host venue and dates for the 2026 Assistants’ Championship soon.
