PGA of BC names 2025 Career & Professional Development Top 100 presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones

January 30, 2026 - The PGA of BC is proud to recognize the 2025 Career & Professional Development Top 100, as determined by the season-long Professional Development Program presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones.

The Association is thrilled to announce Ryan Tofani (Sandpiper Golf Course) as the top performer in the 2025 Professional Development Program, marking Tofani’s second consecutive season earning the most points. Tofani showed a consistent dedication to bettering himself as a professional through an unwavering commitment to industry education. Tofani’s leading campaign was also bolstered by his significant volunteer contributions to the PGA of BC.

The PDP points race acknowledges PGA of BC Professionals who make outstanding contributions to the Association, their communities, the province’s golf industry and, most importantly, themselves. The PDP provides an avenue to showcase and reward the diverse strengths of PGA of BC Professionals by crediting their participation in continuing education, the Association’s annual Trade Show, and various forms of volunteerism.

Tofani earned 109 points in 2025 through his participation in education opportunities, key PGA of BC events, and industry volunteerism. In second place, Chris Ward (Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club) earned 81 points. Lenny Cyr (Seymour Golf & Country Club) finished in third place with 80 points, while Shawn Keough (Marine Drive Golf Club; 79 points) and Caine Lacusta (Kensington & Central Park Pitch & Putt; 78 points) earned a place in the top five.

Tofani pointed to the vast assortment of educational opportunities within the industry as the key to his success in the Professional Development Program and encourages his peers to expand their educational networks.

“I try to take in as many of the courses we offer, along with others outside the PGA of BC, as I can. It allows me to stay connected with the industry in all aspects, and I think more importantly it allows me to continue to grow as a golf professional and as a team leader,” said Tofani.

“There seems to be more and more Professional Development opportunities on offer. Our Association offers so many great learning experiences, but I would encourage members to venture outside of our walls. The PGA of Canada, Golf Genius Webinars, NGCOA Experiences, and countless more as well. There are many ways to further educate yourself within the business of golf that you can then take back to your club, it will make you a better & more well-rounded professional.”

Tofani also highlighted his time on the PGA of BC Board of Directors as a formative experience that has helped him grow as a professional.

“It's been an honor to serve on our Board of Directors for the last couple of seasons. We have so many great professionals on that panel. Each one of them bring passion & experience to the room, we engage in such thoughtful discussions each time we meet and I'm really proud of the direction the Association is heading," said Tofani.

In addition to the overall Career & Professional Development Top 100, the PGA of BC tracks the top Assistant Professionals and Rookies on the PDP leaderboard. Rookies in the Professional Development Program are defined as any members who joined the PGA of BC in the year preceding the PDP Program or later.

Congratulations to Chris Ward for pacing all Assistant Professionals in 2025, earning 81 points for his tremendous efforts. Joining Ward in the top five among Assistants are Lenny Cyr (80 points), Shawn Keough (79 points), Todd Kuspira (Marine Drive Golf Club; 56 points), Bradlee Jones (Vernon Golf & Country Club; 50 points), and John Vu (Quilchena Golf & Country Club; 50 points).

The Association also congratulates Chris Dhillon (Revelstoke Golf Club) for topping the Rookies’ leaderboard with 37 points last season. Dhillon managed to fend off runner-up Gregory Schaepper (Bowen Island Golf Club; 36 points) by a single point. Shayne Simpson (Glacier Greens Golf Club; 32 points) finished in third place, Zachary Ryujin (Gorge Vale Golf Club; 26 points) earned fourth, and Caleb Voth (Ledgeview Golf Club; 23 points) finished in fifth.

The PGA of BC extends its gratitude to Sunice, Bobby Jones and BC Sales Representative Steve Graham for their longtime, generous support of the Professional Development Program and dedication to the continuous improvement of golf professionals in the Association. The top 10 performers in the 2025 program will split a bursary purse of $4,000 to provide financial opportunity and incentive to pursue future professional development opportunities.

“The top finishers in the PDP demonstrate a desire to continuously learn and grow as professionals, always looking for ways to better themselves and their teams,” said Graham. “Embracing new ways to be professional, being open to adapt, experiment and learn, is the most important path to success and longevity in any endeavour.”
