Preview: 2025 Pro-Pro Championship presented by Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf and Golf Trends
September 5, 2025
Richmond, BC (PGA of BC) - The dramatic hillside layout of Tower Ranch Golf Club hosted the PGA of BC Pro-Pro Championship in 2012, the last playing of the competition. Dormant for 13 years, the tournament returns to the picturesque yet demanding Kelowna golf course next week.
The 2025 Pro-Pro Championship presented by Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf and Golf Trends will run September 8-9. The championship sees two-person teams made up of PGA of BC members competing in a Round One Best-Ball competition, with an Alternate Shot competition in Round Two, utilizing a Stableford scoring system. Teams can consist of professionals from different facilities.
In 2012, the duo of Lindsay Bernakevitch (Victoria Golf Club) and Dave Zibrik (Point Grey Golf & Country Club) finished the event at 18-under to secure the win. Thirteen years later, Bernakevitch and Zibrik are teaming up again to defend their title.
“We are absolutely the defending champs!” said Bernakevitch. “If our names are the last ones on the trophy, then we are still defending. We might be expired, but our title isn't.”
Zibrik said it was an easy decision to link up with his longtime peer in the industry.
“Our friendship has certainly remained strong, and we’ve been close friends for a long time. We sort of came through the industry in the same sort of way. I think the team dynamic is built around enjoying each other’s company. Far less hope this time around.”
Despite both competitors’ humility, they are in fact two of the Association’s top performers in recent seasons and will be among the favourites at the Pro-Pro Championship.
Bernakevitch won the 2024 PGA of BC Championship and the 2025 Tournament of Champions. Zibrik took three consecutive titles in the Tournament of Champions from 2021-2023, won the 2023 Club Professional Championship and finished as runner-up in the 2025 PGA of BC Championship.
“It was a no brainer to team up again. Zibby is going to carry me again, just like 13 years ago!” said Bernakevitch.
“If Bernie expects me to carry him, he’s about to be disappointed!” responded Zibrik.

Serving as Head Professional at Tower Ranch and Host Professional for the event, Miles Palahniuk will compete alongside teammate Keith Martin (Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club). Palahniuk and Martin are a familiar duo – they won the 2024 Pro-Assistant Championship with an Association-record-breaking score of 55 (-16) in the final round scramble.
“I’m incredibly proud to host this event after so many years away. It’s an honor to showcase Tower Ranch, one of the premier golf experiences in the region,” said Palahniuk. “The course is in fantastic shape, tee to green. The greens are especially receptive this year. A huge thank you to our maintenance team, who continue to deliver outstanding conditions season after season.”
The Bernakevitch-Zibrik and Palahniuk-Martin teams are expected to be top contenders in the event. Other notable teams include Robin Conlan (Cordova Bay Golf Course) and Zach Ryujin (Gorge Vale Golf Club); Craig Titterington (The Redwoods Golf Course) and Mike Belle (Burnaby Mountain Golf Club); and Brian McDonald and Rob Tadey (both Fairview Mountain Golf Club).
The PGA of BC extends its sincere appreciation to Presenting Sponsors Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf and Golf Trends for their valuable support of our championships and member professionals.
