Preview: 2026 G&G Brands and Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant Championship
July 3, 2026
Campbell River, BC (PGA of British Columbia) - The 2026 G&G Brands and Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant Championship takes place July 6-7 at Campbell River Golf Club. Forty-three teams made up of PGA of BC Head and Assistant Professionals will be teeing it up at the picturesque Vancouver Island course.
Seymour Creek Golf Centre comes to the Pro-Assistant as defending champions, after James Legault and Steven Lecuyer took the victory in 2025 at The Rise Resort with a dominant performance that saw the duo fire a best-ball 58, with Steven shooting 59 on his own ball.
"The first round last year was definitely unforgettable for obvious reasons. Steven posting a 59, you just don’t witness that happening," said Legault.
"The day started with me picking him up at the Kelowna Airport because he played the Chilliwack Open the day before. I came up a day early for the practice round, Steven never saw the course. No driving range, lunch and a few putts and start the tournament. He was 5 under after 7 and with his easy going demeanour and pinpoint ball striking it was a question of how many putts he was going to make, and he made a lot."
This year, Legault will be joined by another Seymour Creek professional and elite competitor, Larry Park. Legault has a distinguished record in the Pro-Assistant Championship, having won in 2008 and 2009 with teammate Bryn Parry and finishing as runner-up in 2004 with Fraser Mulholland.
"I have been coming to this event for close to 30 years now and with the level of teaching and playing pros at Seymour Creek, it is a highlight for me and I'm sure our pros look forward to this event," said Legault.
"The teaching pros at Seymour Creek work extremely hard on teaching quality lessons. The hours are long but all our pros are still dedicated to their games, personal practice and playing in PGA of BC events. It's always a pleasure to get away with any of our teaching pros and relax, enjoy seeing fellow professionals and if things work out compete for another title."
Next week's host venue, Campbell River Golf Club, is set against a classic Vancouver Island backdrop of forest and mountain scenery. The course offers a polished resort-style test that rewards smart positioning, controlled approaches and a steady touch on the greens.
Jordan Fletcher, Campbell River Golf Club Manager of Golf Operations, said the club is excited to put its course, resort and community on display next week.
"We're incredibly excited to welcome this championship to our course. Our entire team, from ownership to every staff member, takes tremendous pride in what we've built here," said Fletcher.
"Naturally Pacific Resort and Campbell River Golf Club offer such a fun, welcoming resort experience—it's truly a golfer's paradise. To have the opportunity to share our course and hospitality with so many outstanding golf professionals from across British Columbia is something we're very proud of. On a personal level, having grown up here in Campbell River, it's especially meaningful to showcase the community and property that I call home. We can't wait to welcome everyone and provide an unforgettable experience."
The PGA of BC extends its appreciation to Fletcher and the Campbell River Golf Club team for their preparation and hospitality.
The Association also extends its gratitude to longtime Co-Title Sponsor G&G Brands and President Brad German for their continued support of the event. We look forward to the presence of G&G Brands' Meagan Tofani, Deanna Ruby, and Chris James at the club next week.
Finally, thank you to Co-Title Sponsor Callaway Golf and BC Sales Representatives Andy Dexter, Kyle German and Dave Arnold for their incredible support over the years.
There will be a shotgun start at 1:00pm PT for Round One Monday.
