Preview: 2026 Pro-Pro Championship presented by Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf, and Coolbet

Victoria, BC (PGA of BC) - The 2026 PGA of BC Pro-Pro Championship presented by Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf and Coolbet takes place September 14-15 at Highland Pacific Golf in Victoria, where 37 duos will tee it up in pursuit of the team title.
The Pro-Pro Championship features two-person teams of PGA of BC Professionals competing in two distinct formats. Monday's opening round will be contested in best-ball before teams switch to alternate-shot Tuesday, with Stableford scoring used throughout the Championship.
The event returned to the PGA of BC schedule last year following a 13-year hiatus. Clark MacPherson and Killian Cullen (both Point Grey Golf & Country Club) captured the revived Championship at Tower Ranch Golf Club, defeating Ryan Stugis and Finlay Young (both Groove4Golf) in a sudden-victory alternate-shot playoff.
MacPherson said the event's combination of competition and camaraderie stood out from their victory.
“I remember us having a lot of laughs and having to play some good golf down the stretch to get the win. It’s an incredibly fun event but really tests you as a team. We’re very excited about getting to try and defend next week at Highland Pacific.”
The Point Grey teammates believe their familiarity and complementary games are strengths as they return to defend. MacPherson pointed to Cullen's ball-striking and driving alongside his own short game, while Cullen said their friendship and competitive nature help bring out their best.
“Coming back as defending champions gives us confidence, but we know how difficult it is to win,” said Cullen. “The goal will be to stay patient, give ourselves chances and hopefully be in the mix again coming down the stretch.”
Highland Pacific should provide an intriguing setting for the Championship's contrasting formats. Head Professional Callum Ashby expects the course's numerous risk-reward opportunities to create different strategic decisions from one round to the next.
“There’s risk-reward on almost every hole at Highland Pacific, and I think that will have the biggest influence on the championship. There are lots of opportunities to be aggressive and make a low number, but playing the safer shot can be just as rewarding,” said Ashby.
“The team formats should make those decisions really interesting. I expect we’ll see some aggressive golf during best-ball, but alternate-shot could change how teams look at the exact same holes the next day.”
Ashby said Highland Pacific is also embracing the social side of the Pro-Pro as the event continues to re-establish itself on the PGA of BC schedule.
“Our hope is that everyone walks away from the event relaxed, having had a few laughs and enjoyed a couple of days with their fellow Professionals. With the Pro-Pro only in its second year back, we’d love to set the bar for future Pro-Pros and help make this an event Professionals look forward to every year.”
