Register as a Teacher: 2026 Teach-A-Thon for Mental Health

Richmond, BC (PGA of BC) - The PGA of BC and the Canadian Mental Health Association British Columbia are thrilled to announce the return of the Teach-A-Thon for Mental Health for 2026. This follows the success of the 2025 initiative, which saw the program expand province-wide and raise over $25,000 for the CMHA BC.
Three years ago, Ledgeview Golf Club's Director of Instruction Brady Stead launched the Steady Golf Teach-A-Thon for Mental Health. This initiative saw Brady teach lessons from dawn to dusk, with 100% of lessons revenue and donations going to the Canadian Mental Health Association. In just two years, he raised $9,870 on his own to provide help and hope to those struggling with mental illness.
Starting last year, the initiative expanded province-wide to include Stead's fellow PGA professionals. PGA of BC members can now donate their lesson time to support the PGA of BC’s Teach-A-Thon for Mental Health and change the lives of people in their local communities living with mental health challenges!
The PGA of BC and the Canadian Mental Health Association are teaming up to bring golf lessons to keen learners, while also supporting local mental health services.
Between September 1 and September 30, 2026, we are asking pros to donate some of their time, with all proceeds from golf lesson fees and member donations directed to the CMHA BC.
Participating PGA of BC professionals may offer individual lessons, group lessons, or longer drop-in clinics. Your participation can range from a single lesson block to a full day of teaching. Every donation counts and every dollar raised will provide vital support to individuals facing mental health challenges.
Participants in the 2026 Teach-A-Thon for Mental Health will earn Community Engagement Program points. To sign-up as a teacher, please click here.
The deadline to sign-up as a teacher is Friday, July 31 at 4:00pm PT.
Note: Please fill out the form as an individual only. Other participants from your club must complete their own form. Please do not input lesson date(s) and time(s) for any teachers but yourself.
The PGA of BC and the CMHA BC will assist with marketing and registration of the lessons. Physical promotional signage will be shipped to participating golf facilities for display in their pro shop. The organizations will also support registration with a digital marketing campaign. That being said, the Association encourages participants to spread the word and promote lessons via their own community and club networks.
