Ryujin and Conlan take Round One lead in the 2026 Pro-Pro Championship presented by Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf, and Coolbet

Victoria, BC (PGA of BC) - Zach Ryujin (Gorge Vale Golf Club) and Robin Conlan (Cordova Bay Golf Course) posted a bogey-free 62 (-9) at Highland Pacific Golf to lead the 2026 PGA of BC Pro-Pro Championship presented by Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf, and Coolbet.

The duo collected 45 Stableford points in the opening best-ball round, taking a two-point advantage into Tuesday’s alternate-shot competition.

Ryujin shot seven-under on his own ball as the pair combined for nine birdies, including consecutive birdies on the 6th and 7th, 10th and 11th, and 15th and 16th holes.

“We're feeling good, Zach should be feeling exceptionally good. Zach played exceptional, shooting 7-under. I got my game together towards the end,” said Conlan.

Former teammates at the University of Victoria, Conlan captained the golf team when Ryujin was a young player in the program. Ryujin later followed him into the captain’s role, with their friendship continuing to shape how they compete together.

“We played college golf together and he's one of my best friends. He was my captain forever. Watching him play golf, it made me want to be better. Watching him, still, makes me want to be better,” said Ryujin.

“We just feed off each other. We want to beat each other, but we also cheer each other on.”

Conlan grew up playing alternate-shot in Germany, frequently representing his golf club in matches against other clubs. Ryujin was new to the format at last year’s Championship, but the experience left both eager to return.

“Playing alternate-shot last year, we learned a lot and we had a lot of fun. We marked this event on our calendar right away,” said Conlan. “We're super excited for tomorrow, for the format."

Daniel Kirby (Cedar Hill Golf Course) and Tahir Shamji (Gorge Vale Golf Club) sit second with 43 points after a seven-under 64. Their round included eagles on the 3rd and 10th holes.

Benjamin Griffin (Uplands Golf Club) and Eric Wang (Victoria Academy of Golf) are tied for third with Bradley Gagnon and Mewail Kidane (both Pacific Golf Academy), with 42 points each.
