Stugis-Young and MacPherson-Cullen share first round Pro-Pro Championship lead

Stugis-Young and MacPherson-Cullen share first round Pro-Pro Championship lead

September 8, 2025

Kelowna, BC (PGA of BC) - Two teams are tied for the lead at the 2025 Pro-Pro Championship presented by Sundog Eyewear, Blue Tees Golf and Golf Trends following the first round at Tower Ranch Golf Club: Ryan Stugis and Finlay Young (both Groove4Golf) and Clark MacPherson and Killian Cullen (both Point Grey Golf & Country Club).

Both teams are tied at 45 Stableford points following the first-round best-ball competition. The duos fired team scores of 63(-9) to earn the Stableford points.

Stugis and Young compiled seven birdies, adding an eagle on the par-5 2nd hole. MacPherson and Cullen matched their competitors’ seven birdies and made an eagle on the par-5 4th hole. Both leading pairs kept their scorecards flawless with zero bogeys during the round.

“I was very steady today. I was lucky enough to hit a lot of fairways and greens, so I had lots of looks for birdie. Ryan hit so many good shots and made plenty of putts,” said Young.

“We’re kind of opposites as players. He makes a lot of putts and is a terrific wedge player, while I’m more of a meat-and-potatoes player, fairways and greens. So, we’re opposites, but that’s not a bad thing in team golf.”

Returning as defending champions, Dave Zibrik (Point Grey Golf & Country Club) and Lindsay Bernakevitch (Victoria Golf Club) are in solo third place with 44 Stableford points after making eight birdies.

Two teams are tied for fourth place with 43 Stableford points: Clay Stothers (Okanagan Golf Club) and Justin Towill (The Harvest Golf Club), and Conner Kozak and Sam De Sira (both Okanagan Golf Club).

Two skins were awarded to competitors following the first round. Congratulations to Kozak and De Sira for their eagle on the 11th, and to Tom Monaghan (McCleery Golf Course) and Bob Rawlings for their eagle on the 15th.
