Women's Golf Celebration presented by adidas Golf Canada delivers successful 2026 season

Richmond, BC (PGA of BC) - The PGA of BC Women’s Golf Celebration presented by adidas Golf Canada enjoyed a successful 2026 season following the introduction of a new Beginner Clinics component. Held throughout June, the clinics provided women across British Columbia with an accessible and supportive opportunity to try golf under the guidance of PGA of BC professionals. The new format complemented other women-specific events hosted around the province as part of the annual celebration.
PGA of BC Pros Growing the Game
Each 60-to-90-minute beginner session was led by a PGA of BC professional in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. Sessions cost $30 plus tax, keeping the barrier to entry as low as possible for women who had never picked up a club.
2026 marked the first year the Celebration opened to the general public. The initiative launched in 2022 as Women's Golf Week, a weeklong online campaign spotlighting female golf professionals and the opportunities available to women across British Columbia. It moved into a variety of in-person programming led by PGA of BC members in 2024, when adidas Golf Canada joined as presenting sponsor, and ran alongside Golf Canada's She Plays Golf Festival in 2025. This year, the program evolved from a single week into a full month of affordable beginner women's clinics.
Across the province, 268 women took part in 40 clinics hosted at 12 unique facilities. Participants who completed the post-program survey gave their experience an average rating of 4.65 out of five, while 61 percent of respondents expressed interest in taking additional lessons with PGA of BC professionals.
Among those who shared feedback was Inessa M., a participant at Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows. “Thank you for putting together such a great event. It was welcoming, fun, and a great way to learn in a comfortable environment,” she wrote in the post-program survey. “I would definitely participate again and hope to see more clinics like this offered in the future.”
Serving as the program instructor at Golden Eagle, Carson Spooner saw participants become increasingly comfortable throughout the session, both with the game and with one another.
“Programs like the Women’s Golf Celebration are important because they allow beginner golfers a chance to experience the game in a low-stress environment with likeminded individuals,” said Spooner.
“As the session went on, the participants seemed more comfortable asking questions, trying different clubs and shots, and seemed to enjoy their time. I saw some of the women who did not know each other prior exchanging contact information, talking about trying golf again in the future, and leaving with a positive attitude about their experience.”
Fairview Mountain Golf Club's Lisa Deleo, a champion for women's golf in the South Okanagan, also participated in the initiative.
"I’m reminded just how epic it is when women come together through golf," said Deleo. "Watching women try the game, build confidence, connect, have a little spicy competition, and start to feel like they belong out there is pretty special. The more spaces we create for women to learn, play, connect, and have fun, the stronger the game becomes!"
adidas Golf Canada Bursary Winners
Four participating facilities were randomly drawn to receive $500 bursaries from adidas Golf Canada to support women’s golf programming and events at their clubs. The 2026 Women's Golf Celebration bursary recipients are Kimberley Golf Course in the Kootenays/North, Predator Ridge Resort in the Interior, Gleneagles Golf Course in the Lower Mainland and Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community on Vancouver Island. The bursary draw recognized facilities supporting the Women's Golf Celebration through both the new Beginner Clinics and other women-specific events and initiatives at their clubs.
